The Menominee Nation of Wisconsin and the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon have received a certificate of self-regulation from the National Indian Gaming Commission, the federal agency responsible for regulating Indian gaming.

The certificates are the first awarded by the NIGC's Office of Self-Regulation. They give the tribes greater responsibilty over their Class II gaming operations.
