MARCH 14, 2001 The Arizona Gaming Department on Monday denied TP Racing LLLP's application for off-track betting in Indian casinos due to managing member Jerry Sims' reported shady past. The state denied the application because Sims withheld information or made false claims, was involved in a political pay-off scandal in California, and has ties to a Nevada businessman whose casino was allegedly run by the Mafia.
