NIGC fees to increase slightly

APRIL 20, 2001 The National Indian Gaming Commission's proposed 2002 budget is increased by $100,000, an amount to be financed in fees paid by gaming tribes. NIGC has a staff of 70. Kyle Nayback, NIGC's director of congressional and public affairs, said the staff is having a hard time keeping up with its job of policing casinos and the increase in fees won't necessarily improve the situation. NIGC is an agency of the Department of Interior. Get the Story:
