Mohawks file $12B gaming suit

APRIL 27, 2000 A $12 billion class-action lawsuit against Park Place Entertainment was filed in tribal court Wednesday on behalf of tribal members opposing what they see as a secret deal between the gaming company and the the tribal council. The suit alleges the gaming company "fraudulently induced" the Mohawk Tribal Council into partnering with them. The suit seeks damages from the company, its CEO, and its chief counsel. Get the Story:
