Native Corp. sees tourism losses

MAY 31, 2001 Cook Inlet Region Inc., an Alaska Native corporation, lost $11 million on its tourism business in 2000, an increase in losses from the year prior. Revenues at CIRI's tourism businesses were $12.1 million in 2001, down 27 percent. Expenses were up 29 percent to $23.1 million. Overall, CIRI had revenues of $380 million and a record $102 million in profits, mostly due to a telecommunications stock windfall. Get the Story:
