The Gun Lake Band of Potawatomi says it will appeal a ruling which dismissed its gaming compact challenge to the state of Michigan.

US District Judge Robert Holmes Bell last week said the tribe was premature in its lawsuit against the state. He said the tribe's proposed casino site has not yet been taken into trust by the federal government so the tribe can't ask the state to negotiate a Class III compact.
