Pequot Tribe fights tax bill

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut has filed an appeal for a tax bill covering half of the properties it owns in North Stonington.

The tribe believes the assessment of $18.2 million is high.

The tribe is one of the biggest taxpayers in towns located next to its southeastern Connecticut reservation.
