Alleged casino plan criticized

Alleged plans by the Nipmuc Nation of Massachusetts to open a casino in Connecticut has residents in the area worried.

One band of the tribe in January received preliminary recognition under a decision approved by former acting Assistant Secretary Michael Anderson. It is on hold pending review by the Bush administration.
