THURSDAY, JULY 12, 2001 At a Ledyard town meeting tonight, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut will request that a parking lot for its museum be made permanent. The tribe currently has a five-year term, set to expire in 2003, on a parking lot adjacent to the museum, but the land is currently not held in trust. Therefore, the lot is subject to zoning and planning laws of Ledyard. The tribe had originally told the towns that visitors to the museum would arrive by monorail. The monorail was never built.
