Three Alaska Native corporations have asked the Federal Communications Commission to settle a dispute involving their $2.9 billion bid for wireless licenses.

Along with AT&T, Sealaska Corp. of Juneau, Arctic Slope Regional Corp. of Barrow and Doyon Ltd. of Fairbanks bought the licenses in an auction earlier this year. But a federal appeals court said the government didn't have the right to hold the auction.

The corporations are hoping to protect their investment, which has since become more financially promising.
