'Medicine Man' drinks feature Zuni story

MONDAY, JULY 30, 2001 Although some tribal leaders have criticized the company, Hansen's new line of "Medicine Man" drinks has the support of Zuni Pueblo Governor Malcolm Bowekaty. Bowekaty lent his name and his tribe's name to the company for the "Zuni High Desert Melon" drink. It is one of four new juices the California company has introduced. The Zuni drink has art by Zuni artist Duane Dishta and a brief description of Zuni history. The tribe received financial compensation for participating. The other drinks are Cherokee Cloud Berry, Shoshone Prickly Pear Nectar and Comanche Bitter Root Beer. Get the Story:
