JULY 6, 2001 Bear Stearns estimates that 1,400 gaming web sites generated $1.5 billion last year in a market that will grow to $5 billion by 2003. As the market expands, more and more American companies are getting involved, but not always directly. Some web site sell ads to online casinos while other companies provide technology for them. Some states consider such side involvement akin to engaging in illegal behavior. Most states ban online gaming. Get the Story:
