The Department of Interior has more credit cards than it does employees, according to the Associated Press.

There are 82,835 credit cards for 68,000 employees, says the AP in a report. The AP quotes Debra Sonderman, manager of the department's credit card program, as saying: "That's certainly one area we're looking at, whether we need to reduce the number of cardholders."

Employees at agencies throughout the federal government, including the Bureau of Indian Affairs, have been disciplined or charges with credit card abuse. There are a reported 3.1 million government credit cards responsible for $19 billion in charges.
