MONDAY, AUGUST 6, 2001 Alaska still leads the nation in the number of households without complete plumbing, according to statistics released by the Census Bureau. Of homes in Alaska, 3.83 percent were without adequate plumbing in 2000. The rate is an improvement from 1990, when 12.5 percent were without. Many of the homes that lack plumbing are located rural and Alaska Native villages.
