Washington D.C.'s Reagan National Airport remains closed today as Bush administration officials question whether to shut down the popular airport for good.

Some lawmakers, however, are pushing for the airport to remain open. Despite the risks of being so close to the U.S. Capitol, the airport is a vital economic machine, they argue. Other lawmakers say the security risks are too great.

Flights are being added at the Dulles International Airport. Travel to and from Baltimore Washington International Airport is also open.

Some travelers are taking Amtrak. The train company reported service from Washington to Boston was up.

Meanwhile, the airline industry took a big hit on Wall Street yesterday. Airlines are cutting back on flights nationally and some are laying off employees with US Airways heavily hit due to its involvement at Reagan National.

Bush is promising federal aid to the failing companies.
