Poarch Creek bingo hall delayed

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2001 The Poarch Creek Tribe of Alabama won't be opening its new bingo hall in Wetumpka this week as planned due to a delay in some wiring work, chairman Eddie Tullis told the Associated Press. The tribe has run into opposition over the hall and another proposal. The tribe also intends to turn both into Class III gaming facilities, seeking a ruling by Secretary of Interior Gale Norton if necessary. A lawsuit has been filed to stop the project.
