An unrecognized New Hampshire tribe does not want to open a casino on property it owns, a spokesperson said.

The Cowasuck Tribe, however, is willing to work with the idea if the state brought up casino development, said Paul Pouliot. Otherwise, he said the tribe plans on using the 137-acre site for a natural preserve and spiritual retreat.

News reports last week suggested the tribe was seeking to start a casino.
