Pueblo casinos cashing out for holidays

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2001

It's beginning to look at lot like Christmas at New Mexico's Pueblo casinos so that means non-stop versions of "Feliz Navidad" and special promotions and prizes to keep people in the holiday spirit.

Sandia Pueblo is giving away a quarter of a million dollars in cash and prizes. Sen. Pete Domenici (R-N.M.), however, is not giving the tribe the western face of Sandia Mountain in exchange. Sorry, Charlie!

San Felipe Pueblo is giving away more than $100,000 and prizes. However, reports that the casino's celebrity impersonation cabaret is shutting down because the fake Michael Jackson beat up the fake Cher are premature.

At Laguna Pueblo, patrons are being forced to watch football on a really large TV. Pueblo husbands are said to be coming up with "excuses" to check it out.
