A settlement over a lawsuit filed by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and a developer may be near.

The Inland Wetlands Commission of the town of North Stonington has offered to drop one requirement of development for the tribe's proposed 18-hole golf course and resort. The developers have to respond in writing to the offer.

The commission, however, says it is willing to go to court on a number of other conditions it wants the tribe and the developer to meet.
