TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2002 Angered at his refusal to appear before their panel, lawmakers on the Senate Commerce Committee are planning to vote to subpoena former Enron chairman Ken Lay. Lawmakers in the House are moving to subpoena Lay, who has since quit the Enron board, as well. In addition to canceling yesterday's Senate hearing, Lay bowed out of his testimony before the House on Thursday. A hearing before a House Financial Services subcommittee went ahead yesterday, with former board members pointing the finger at Lay for the company's collapse and subsequent bankruptcy, the largest in history.
