A gaming company has agreed to pay a Rhode Island $50,000 up front and $25,000 every quarter for hosting the Narragansett Tribe's proposed casino.

The West Warwick town council approved the agreement with Boyd Gaming on Tuesday night. The deal could be thwarted if the State Legislature approves a casino study that would end up delaying the tribe's prospects for a year or more.
