WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17, 2002

Congressional hopeful Jeff Benedict took his criticism of Indian gaming to Maine on Tuesday.

Benedict spoke to a crowd in Kittery, where two Maine tribes have proposed building a casino. He told residents they should be informed about hosting a facility in their town.

Benedict is seeking the Democratic nod for Connecticut's 2nd Congressional district. He is trailing in delegates and may not make it to the primary.

If elected, he said he would work to terminate the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.
