The Miami Nation of Oklahoma threatened a land claims lawsuit to the mayor of Gary, Indiana, The Chicago Tribune reports today.

The tribe claims land in the state under a treaty. The April 11 letter says the a settlement could involve a "mutually beneficial" partnership, the paper says.

But unlike the reception the tribe received in Ohio, Mayor Scott King has said he would listen to any proposal.
