Committee approves Abraham nomination

JANUARY 19, 2001 The Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources on Thursday voted to approve the nomination of Spencer Abraham as Secretary of Energy. Abraham appeared before the committee on Thursday morning and the panel recommended his confirmation before hearings for Gale Norton, Secretary of Interior nominee, began. Abraham will now be considered by the full Senate and is expected to be approved. Get the Story:
