Amid questions of his health, Dick Cheney, George W. Bush's running mate on went NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday said he would step down if his well-being threatened his ability to do the job. In various other media appearances, Cheney also called on Vice President Al Gore to concede. WHAT GORE SAID
Gore, on the other hand, went on CBS's "60 Minutes" on Sunday and said he would exhaust all of his legal remedies before conceding defeat. Although the deadline for all states, including Florida, to certify their Electoral College votes is fast approaching, Gore said he couldn't guarantee the contest would end then. THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE
The Florida legislature is scheduled to meet today in a special session today in an attempt to make sure the state's 25 Electoral College votes go to Bush. Related Stories:
