FEBRUARY 2, 2001 In what has become a Presidential tradition, George W. Bush spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday and extolled the "power of prayer" as he called on the government to stop discriminating against religious groups. He created a White House Office which will work with five federal agencies to increase funding for religious groups and sent to Congress a number of legislative proposals affecting charitable donations.
