Congressman praises Pequot Tribe

MAY 15, 2001 Freshman Congressman Rob Simmons (R-Conn.) on Monday praised the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and its financial successes at the opening day of the midyear session of the National Congress of American Indians. Simmons is currently mediating a land-into-trust dispute affecting the tribe and three neighboring towns. The session is being hosted by the Pequot Tribe at its Foxwoods Resort Casino. Get the Story:
