JUNE 26, 2001

Fearing loss of federal funds, Democrat lawmakers and Democrat supporters are calling on the Census Bureau to release adjusted data from last year's count.

The Census Bureau says the 2000 count was the most accurate in history. Still, about 6.4 million were missed and at least 3.1 million were double counted.

Indian Country is the most undercounted segment of the population.
