Janet Reno visits New Mexico

JUNE 8, 2001 Former Attorney General Janet Reno spoke to law students at the University of New Mexico on Thursday, answering a wide number of questions on politics, the environment, and law enforcement. Reno refused, however, to comment on the Wen Ho Lee spy case or the Timothy McVeigh Oklahoma City bombing document snafu. She said it would be inappropriate to talk about either matter. Reno also avoided criticizing her succcessor John Ashcroft. Its too early to tell, she said. And she was mum about her plans for running for Governor of Florida. She'll be making that decision later. Reno plans on attending the bat mitzvah of a local Albuquerque girl this weekend. Get the Story:
