First Lady in lead in Okla. poll

MONDAY, JULY 16, 2001 Should former Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Ross Swimmer decide to join the race for Oklahoma's 1st Congressional district, he faces stiff competition from First Lady Cathy Keating. In a poll conducted of Republican voters, Keating had a lead over two possible contenders. Swimmer was not part of the poll. The seat is being vacated by Rep. Steve Largent because he wants to be the state's governor. Get the Story:
