As of Thursday, delegates to the World Conference Against Racism have failed to come to a compromise on two contentious issues that have put the meeting's usefulness in doubt.

The issues of Zionism and racism and slavery reparations to African nations remain unresolved as the conference ends today. Both issues had worried the United States before the conference began.

The Zionism issue led the U.S. delegation to walk out of the meeting, which is taking place in Durban, South Africa.
