State of the Union is tonight

TUESDAY, JANUARY 29, 2002 President Bush will deliver his State of the Union address to Congress tonight, his first since taking office. The televised remarks begin at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt (D-Mo.) will deliver a response following. Bush's popularity is at a record high as he goes into the address. An ABC News / Washington Post poll found that 83 percent of respondents thought he was doing a good job, the highest of any president at the same time. Get the Story:
