McCaleb defends Ross Swimmer

Ross Swimmer is uniquely qualified to handle the Indian trust, Assistant Secretary Neal McCaleb told The Tulsa World this week.

"If you look at Mr. Swimmer's credentials, there is nobody from Indian Country that is better qualified in my judgment," McCaleb told the paper. "He has an excellent background as a tribal leader, an excellent background in the banking community, so he understands the mechanisms of the trust . . . and he is an attorney."

McCaleb made his comments when asked about trust reform efforts. The tribal leaders' task force is meeting in San Diego, California, this week.
