Peter John, the 100-year-old chief of the Interior Athabaskans, was honored at a surprise potlatch ceremony at his home.

The ceremony was originally going to be held at the community hall in Minto, but it instead tok place at his home because of his physical condition.

John's actual birthdate is not known.
