OCTOBER 19, 2000

A meeting to discuss next year's proposed Columbus Day parade in Denver, Colorado, was held on Wednesday, but American Indian leaders didn't show up.

Glenn Morris, an American Indian Movement leader who organized a protest against a parade held this past Columbus Day, didn't attend because he had a scheduling conflict. But he said he might not have attended anyway, because of the promises that have been broken by parade organizers.
