"I would hope that our legislators would put the nix on any more casinos in Connecticut. It is unfortunate that the federal Indian Gaming Act, meant to help out true Indian tribes which are in abundance farther West, is being used to line the pockets of gambling interests here in Connecticut. Should any more of these eastern Indians gain federal status, I would entreat our representatives to, at the very least, stop them from using slot machines, the main culprit in so many of the crimes and deaths linked to compulsive gambling. . ."
