Human remains dug up over 40 years ago near Mobridge, South Dakota are finally receiving the proper attention and will be repatriated to local tribes. The bones are destined for reburial on the Standing Rock Reservation but the tribe as well as the Fort Berthold tribes will first work with a local church to resolve all issues related to the Native American Graves and Repatration Act (NAGPRA) of 1990.

A short Lakota memorial service was performed for the remains on Tuesday.
