MAY 4, 2001

In an editorial today, the Norwich Bulletin says the State of Connecticut should give up its plan to build a casino bridge a bypass seeing as how no one wants it built.

The state has proposed a bypass road to alleviate traffic between the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the Mohegan Tribe casinos. The state has also proposed a new bridge be built.

The tribes and a local town oppose the project, which could cost anywhere from $60 million to $80 million.
