MAY 8, 2000 The Parker whaling family returned from the waters Sunday afternoon but without a whale. Peak migration of the grey whales has passed but whaling commissioner president Keith Johnson says there is time left until June when the migration ends. The tribe can't hunt females with calves, per their agreement with the National Marine Fisheries Service. The 10-day permit will expire May 16.
