Kevin McBride, archaeologist for the director of research for the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center said Connecticut artist David Wagner is wrong about a Pequot massacre in 1637.

Wagner told The New London Day earlier this month that no one Pequots were killed by British soldiers but McBride says Wagner has misinterpreted records and used faulty methods to make his claims.

The Mohegan Tribe recently bought 102 paintings from Wagner for over $1 million dollars, which include a series on the Pequot War. The tribe praised Wagner for his historical accuracy.
