Blood quantum at center of debate

John Currier, chairman of the Rincon tribe in California, faces removal from his position and his family faces expulsion the tribe due to their failure to meet the blood quantum requirements of the tribe.

Currier says he and his family are being singled out by disgruntled tribal adversaries.

The family has until August 1 to appeal a decision made by the Bureau of Indian Affairs concerning their eligibility.
