JUNE 27, 2001 A committee in New Mexico is looking for the families of three of the 29 original Navajo Code Talkers so that they can be presented Congressional gold medals at a ceremony next month. Congress authorized gold medals last year for the original talkers and silver medals for those who followed. Of the original, five are still alive. For those Code Talkers who are dead, the medals will be given to the family. The committee is trying to locate the families of John Willie Jr., George Dennison and Charlie Y.
