SEPTEMBER 14, 2000 The Prairie Band Potawatomi Tribal Council hasn't decided if it will remove Chairwoman Mamie Rupnicki from her position. Rupnicki has been accused of abusing her power by getting an order from the tribal court granting her son temporary custody of his children. He had been charged with battery of his wife in July. Rupnicki is on sick leave until September 30. Get the Story:
