Editorial: Clarity needed on white company

In an editorial today, The Denver Post says the Supreme Court's recent "nondecision" on an affirmative action case affecting a white-owned Colorado company only means the issue will remain unresolved for several years.

The paper expresses no opinion on the merits of the case, only saying "additional clarity is much desired" when it comes to valid affirmative action programs.

Citing procedural issues, the Court dropped the appeal of case and said lower courts had to resolve outstanding claims made by the company, Adarand Constructors Inc., who lost a federal contracting bid to a minority-owned firm.
