"I am often asked the question, “Do Indians believe in Christmas?”

Let me put it this way: “Is there a meal involved?”

I can’t (and wouldn’t dare) speak for all Indians here but, by and large, yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus in Indian country, and Native America has pretty much “bought into” the Christmas thing.

Literally.

But if you strip away the hype and the hysteria and the dollar-driven mayhem of the malls and the Wally Marts, you might say that Indian people have been big believers in Christmas for thousands of years. . ."
