WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2001 "The Times editorial, "Outrage against Indians" (Times, Dec. 3), doesn't nearly describe the mismanagement of the Indian trust fund. This fund, for those who are unaware, consists of hundreds of thousands of trust accounts of individual Native Americans, as well as several thousand tribal accounts. These accounts are, by long-standing agreements, supposed to receive revenues generated by a variety of sources, including oil, gas, and coal production, grazing leases, and timber sales on allotted Indian lands. . ."
