THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2002

In an editorial today, The Seattle Post-Intelligencer criticizes the Bush administration for moving forward a plan to store highly radioactive waste in Nevada without completing critical studies.

"The Department of Energy must be kidding," the paper writes.

The paper says the department is putting the cart before the hose by pushing the site. Secretary Spencer Abraham is making a formal recommendation to President Bush in a matter of days.
