"Jon Whirlwind Horse's Feb. 23 op-ed column, "No Child Left Behind? Come to Indian Country," understated efforts by the Bush administration to improve Indian education.

Last year, President Bush proposed and Congress appropriated $129.7 million in the current fiscal year for construction at six Indian schools, including the Ojibwa Indian School cited by the author, and $61 million for improvement at 10 other schools. . ."
