Trust fund hacking bad news for Norton

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2001

A court investigator's report about the lack of security of tribal and individual Indian trusts is altnernatively being called "scathing," "stinging," and "devastating" and "disgsuting" in the national media.

The usual suspects cover the story, including The Washington Post, The Denver Post and the Associated Press. All portray a system over which special master Alan Balaran urged a federal judge to take control to prevent further damage to tribes and 300,000 American Indians whose $3.1 billion in assets are at risk from hackers and malicious users.

The Wall Street Journal also weighs in with a report. The paper's producers filed a motion to have the security investigation unsealed.
