MAY 7, 2001

Federal authorities are continuing to investigate repeated attempts to break into Pentagon computers while Chinese hackers apparently hit an Oklahoma television station's web site over the weekend.

Authorities say the Pentagon attacks appear to be coming from Russia, but have had no luck tracing them. The attacks have been occurring for the past three years.

The Tulsa TV site KTUL at http://www.ktul.com was hit on Sunday by a group claiming to be the "Honker Union of China."

The federal government and a number of US-based sites have been attacked in recent weeks by hackers the FBI considers Chinese.
